Dereham’s local allotment and gardening group ceased activities in Summer 2020
Set up some twenty years ago the Society’s original purpose was to protect the Cemetery Road Allotments in Dereham from development. DDAGS then grew to be a more diverse local society providing events and activities for members, discount schemes and an annual horticultural show.
The Society had a very active membership of around 100 people, however by early 2020 the Membership had reduced quite significantly and whilst the Summer Show remained a jewel in the crown for the local horticultural calendar, the support for events, talks and other membership services dwindled. The Members decided to close the Society in the Summer of 2020.
